EKF-diagnostic GmbH part of new medical engineering network

On September 10th, 2014, 19 companies met at a start-up event for a new medical and sanitary engineering group in Saxony-Anhalt. As one of the most successful medical technology manufacturers in Saxony-Anhalt, EKF Diagnostics will be an active member of that newly founded cluster.

The main goal is to strengthen and further develop the industry within this region by bringing together small and large enterprises.

According to Steffen Borlich, CEO of EKF-diagnostic GmbH, the cluster should lead to synergistic effects like cooperation within the field of research, exchange of experiences, joint projects, symposia, and conferences.

Eighty participants attended the meeting, which shows the demand and acceptance of such collaboration. The most important common ground became clear very quickly: All companies are filling niche markets and specialize in one particular medical engineering field.

That fact practically erases competition and guides to perfect preconditions for productive cooperation, leading to thinking outside the box and strongly affecting Saxony-Anhalt’s medical engineering sector.
