EKF showcases its point-of-care portfolio at MedLab Asia 2016

EKF Diagnostics, the global in vitro diagnostics company, will be highlighting its Quo-Test® and Quo-Lab® HbA1c analyzers alongside many of its other point-of-care (POC) and laboratory diagnostics products at MedLab Asia Pacific 2016, Singapore, 22 – 24 March.

At MedLab Asia, EKF will be discussing its portfolio of products used in Diabetes Care. This includes POC analyzers, which deliver fast and reliable results for glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c) and glucose, enabling practitioners and patients to make clinical or lifestyle decisions in minutes. The EKF Diabetes Care portfolio also includes clinical chemistry used in diabetes care, such as Beta-Hydroxybutyrate (BHB) LiquiColor® reagent and Glycated Serum Protein (GSP) LiquiColor® assay, which provides a two-to-three-week indicator of average blood glucose.

Visitors to stand J59 will also have the opportunity to see products from EKF’s Hematology range. Its Hemo Control hemoglobin analyzer uses the most established photometric azide methemoglobin method to deliver quantitative, lab-quality results in 25 seconds. In addition to providing hemoglobin measurement, the Hemo Control also calculates hematocrit. New to the Hemo Control is a bi-directional interface using a public standard protocol that allows direct integration with third-party software – the standard Hemo Control device can be upgraded with data management functions at the point of purchase or later, a unique market feature.

Also in the Hematology range is EKF’s new DiaSpect Tm, a handheld, lightweight hemoglobin analyzer that is fast, easy to use, and reliable for anemia diagnosis in all climatic conditions. The palm-sized DiaSpect Tm is an ideal POCT device combining laboratory-quality performance with unmatched measurement speed. Already proving highly effective in challenging POCT conditions in many locations, including East Africa and South-East Asia, the DiaSpect Tm is unaffected by hot and humid environments, as are the cuvettes used for blood collection. DiaSpect Tm’s extremely long battery life also ensures this handheld device is ideal for use outside laboratories or in resource-poor locations.
